From Trails to Forever Place

August 31, 2025

We recently checked on this figurine and someone has taken it without posting :0( Makes us very sad!!! PLEASE, if you find a pot, please post or email stating found!

Goal 1: Due diligence

Goal 2: Exploring new trails

Goal 3: Hide a treasure from a 10 year old grand-daughter

This past weekend we headed down to Hanksville for one more round of due diligence before signing on our “almost” new property. Honestly, it’s already one of our favorite places to escape to. Wide open desert skies, endless trails, and those rugged landscapes that always call us back for another hike or drive. Every trip seems to reveal something new to explore, and that we did!

Since this was a special visit, we wanted to leave a little surprise behind. Our 11 year-old granddaughter, Lena had been busy shaping clay, and she made the sweetest Fremont figurine replica ever. We were shocked how well she did on her first one with little instructions, which she made 2 different ones in one weekend. She was equally proud of her work, therefore we decided it deserved a home in the desert, with a little gold tag that says it’s not ancient.

We tucked it in a spot that’s easy to find—right off a busy dirt road intersection. The area is a four-corners kind of crossroad, with trails branching out toward so many incredible sights. If you’re out there exploring, keep your eyes open. You just might come across a small piece of history reimagined by little hands.

For us, leaving treasures like this is part of the adventure. It ties us to the land, connects generations, and turns an ordinary trip into something unforgettable.

If you want to track it down, here’s your clue:

GPS coordinates within 1 mile: FOUND (gone)

Head North of Hanksville until you reach the intersection where four dirt roads meet—a little desert crossroads with plenty of traffic from explorers. The figurine is resting low, near a cluster of rocks, where the shade hits in late afternoon.

It’s an easy grab, so perfect for families with kids who want to join the adventure.

Happy hunting fellow Adventurers – may your trails be dusty, your packs light, and your finds full of wonder.

FIGURINE HAS BEEN FOUND, BECAUSE IT IS GONE!
